Sci-fi Haiku couplet

These Haiku shorts were made at the same time, and evoke my current hankering for science fiction.
They are both available in HD on the consumer128 vimeo channel

Red Restaurant

Red Restaurant

I’ve been helping Jo Shaw with editing before the event, and now editing together the onscreen/offscreen action.

Set in an underground mobsters meeting place in 1955 “The Red Restaurant” is a one-off film/theatre hybrid presented by Brighton’s Lighthouse media centre. This installation creates an environment where the line between fantasy and reality becomes tangible and where the line between performer and audience is considerably blurred. The Red Restaurant will not only satisfy the film audiences desire to be a part of the action but will also test that of the theatre-goers’ - adamant to remain unnoticed. The film takes place (and will be shot) in the same room the audience are sitting in and the effect will be to give the illusion that the room continues by mirroring the room they are in. Some of the people on screen are played by the waitresses who serve the snacks and tend the tables where the audience sit. They react to the action through out – at times being addressed directly by onscreen characters; taking orders to change table cloths, light candles and take food away between takes.     Â
